It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so with little further appellation from me, I present these photos from the day that is now known to us at The Toa Nafasi Project as Vumi’s Day, July 24th.

This year, 2020, marked the 5th anniversary of Vumi’s death, so the staff traveled out to Marangu to visit her gravesite and made a meal to be shared with her widower and family.  Remarks were made and stories shared, and then the ladies returned to Moshi town, to live out Vumi’s legacy.

Never was there a more apt definition of “bittersweet.”
